I have always been really interested in the fact that there is more to life than materialism and what can be physically seen and scientifically tested, reflecting on this, can see that this belief has led me to the work that I now do. I know that it has been vitally important for my wellbeing to focus not just on my physical, emotional and mental health, but also my spiritual wellbeing too. In my work I help people to discover and explore their own soul, whatever this may mean to them.
I began my working life in the insurance industry and hated it. I knew in my heart that what I wanted to do was to work with people. During my days in insurance, I met my desire to work with people in a therapeutic way, by teaching and facilitating self-help, personal and spiritual development classes and by running a spiritual (not religious) centre which taught people how to believe in themselves and helped them to become empowered to live their lives in the ways which are right for them. The centre was extremely successful and remained open for seventeen years with branches in Devon and Cornwall.
I have always been fascinated by people and what makes us the person we are and so when I was made redundant, some years ago it was the perfect opportunity to change direction and so I began to build a new career which focused on working with clients to help them find meaning and understanding, direction and focus in their lives. I qualified as a counsellor, therapist, supervisor and trainer.
Today I work with clients who wish to have some counselling or therapy or who require spiritual guidance to help them find understanding, meaning or direction in their lives. I created Devon and Cornwall Counselling Hub in 2015 and teach counselling and personal development.
